LEEDS PLOTTING MOVE FOR CHELSEA OUTCAST

Chelsea defender FikayoTomori has been frozen out of the first team picture at the club this season and the Nigerian-born England international is said to be keen to leave the West London giants in this January transfer market. Premier League newcomers Leeds United are interested in signing Tomori as manager Marcelo Bielsa looks for cover in central defence due to the injury to new signing Robin Koch. German defender Koch is not expected back anytime soon after he underwent surgery on the knee that he injured last month. The Leeds United player was ruled out for three months in the aftermath of his surgery.


The interest of Leeds United in FikayoTomori was reported by the BBC and he could be the man to solve the defensive issues at Elland Road. Leeds United are one of the most entertaining teams in the Premier League but they also ship a lot of goals. Leeds United were handed a 6-2 away defeat at rivals Manchester United and a 3-0 away loss at Spurs. The league newcomers also delivered heavy Premier League defeats to the duo of West Brom and Newcastle United during the said period. LEEDS BACKED TO END WINLESS RUN

 

Premier League newcomers Leeds United have been backed to return to winning ways at home ahead of the visit of London team West Ham United. Leeds United were tipped to beat the Hammers by former Liverpool player Mark Lawrenson who’s now a pundit with BBC Sports. He expects Leeds United to end their four-match winless run at home in the league when Marcelo Bielsa’s men play hosts to West Ham United at Elland Road on Friday night in the first match of week twelve games in the Premier League.


Leeds United have won just one of their five home games in the league on their return to the English topflight. The solitarywin came during their first home game back in the Premier League in September. Leeds United beat fellow newcomers Fulham 4-3 in that game played on the second weekend of the season. Bielsa confirms that he will stay with Leeds for the 2020/21 campaign

 

Marcelo Bielsa has confirmed that he will remain Leeds United’s head coach for the 2020/21 season. The Argentine helped the Whites return to the top-flight after a 16-year hiatus earlier this summer and there are plenty of expectations from the west Yorkshire outfit, who have already made some quality signings.

In recent weeks, there has been no update on Bielsa’s contract, which was scheduled to expire at the end of last season, but the Argentine has confirmed that he has agreed to an extension which will be confirmed in due course, he told reporters: “I will be working the next season at Leeds United. Everything has been sorted. It’s definite that I will be here next season.”

Leeds United mocks Derby County ahead of the match on Sunday

 

Leeds United has mocked Derby County ahead of the match on a scandal that happened in the previous season. In 2018-2019 season, Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa has occupied the headlines as he had sent a staff to report on the training routine of Derby County ahead of their clash in the semi-finals. Later Bielsa publicly admitted that he has been sending spies to Derby County and few other clubs of Championship in order to gain strength over the opposition.

This has created some sort of tension between the clubs and in the semi-final,playoff Derby won the match for 4-3 aggregate. Later in the stadium, the fans of the club mocked by making binocular gestures. As a reply to this, the club before the game has mocked by posting a video on the social media where the Derby stadium was being viewed through the binoculars.

Leeds United keen on signing Patrick Erras

Leeds United are looking forward to signing Nurnberg midfielder Patrick Erras. They have been keen on signing him but the deal comes with the condition of whether Leeds will be promoted in this season or not. Leeds had discussions with the player and is been proceeding with the process.

Erras was the main interest of Newcastle United in the last transfer window and his current contract with Nurnberg will come to an end at this year. With the contract ready to end, many of the English clubs have shown interest to him. Brentford, Blackburn Rovers, and Bristol City have shown interest on the player and has discussions with him.

Patrick spent his youth career in SV Raigering from the age of five and he stayed there until 2007. Later on, he was transferred to Nurnberg FC where he is currently playing. Erras made his debut on the first team on 2015 for a match against Greuther Furth. He in this season for Nurnberg has appeared in 18 matches and have scored twice for the club.

Leeds will be determining the targets based on whether they will secure promotion to the Premier League or not. With the advent of coronavirus, the club has suffered many financial constraints and the clubs will be looking forward to signing free transfer as they are more financially safe ones.

Leeds have suffered from the suspension of football activity due to COVID 19 pandemic. They were planning to return to Premier League after 16 years of waiting. But after the suspension, they have had major drawbacks. They are very much desperate for the promotion and they are the currently leading team of Championship table.

Leeds are one point ahead of West Brom and seven points ahead of third positioned Fulham. Their first match after the suspension of football activity is against Cardiff City on June 21.
