Posh supremo - 'Leeds fans are absolutely fantastic'

Peterborough United's director of football Barry Fry has revealed the huge amount of interest generated by Leeds United's impending visit to London Road this Saturday. The Cambridgeshire outfit are expecting a bumper pay-day as the White Army marches south for a high-noon League One showdown.

'We're hoping for a sell-out,' confirmed Fry. 'Leeds fans are absolutely fantastic and I think Leeds have sold 4,200 tickets for an away game. They have been selling like hot cakes and there's loads of interest here.'

The ex-Birmingham City boss fully expects Gary McAllister's side to be celebrating a title triumph next May, and is anticipating a thorough examination for the Posh this weekend. 'This is a massive test for us,' he added. 'I anticipate Leeds to win the league this year, there's no doubt in my mind about that. They've got the fanbase behind them to roar them on.'

'I know Gary McAllister very well and thought he was a fantastic appointment. And he's the right man to lead them to the 'good old days' again. He's an excellent manager and has got a nice blend of youth and experience together. Despite all the club's troubles, Leeds fans have stuck by their team and remained very loyal and they, above all, deserve to go up through the leagues.'
