Leeds United's play-off semi-final hero Jonny Howson is eagerly anticipating the club's first appearance at Wembley for 12 years. United take on Doncaster Rovers in the League One play-off final this Sunday in the climax to what has been one of the most unique seasons in the clubs illustrious history.
The Morley-born midfielder, who scored two crucial goals to break the hearts of Carlisle United at Brunton Park last Thursday, believes clinching an immediate return to the Championship would be just reward for the Whites magnificent supporters.
'They are terrific,' he said. 'You only had to look at them the other night. They've been brilliant and they deserve it. I'm glad we've repaid them and got to Wembley, now we have to win it.'
'Over the last few years we have been on a downer, but we seem to have turned things around. If we can win at Wembley we've made history, with the minus 15. It doesn't get any better than that.'
